This policy describes how Puck Perfection (“we”, “us”), available at puckperfection.app, collects and uses information when you play. The short version: solo play is anonymous, leagues need an email address, and we use standard analytics to understand how the game is used.
Information we collect
- Gameplay data. The teams you build, game results, records, and shared challenges. Solo play does not require an account and is not tied to your identity.
- Leaderboard name (optional). If you enter a display name for leaderboards, it is shown publicly alongside your results.
- Account information (leagues only). Multiplayer leagues use a sign-in code sent to your email address. We store your email and chosen GM name to operate your account. Solo play never asks for an email.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics to collect usage data (pages viewed, game events such as spins and completed games, approximate location from IP, device and browser type). This data is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.
- Device storage. We use cookies and browser storage (localStorage) to keep you signed in to leagues, remember your display name, remember whether you played today’s Daily Challenge, and store an anonymous device identifier for features like streaks and challenge links.
How we use information
- To run the game: scoring, leaderboards, daily challenges, head-to-head challenges, and leagues.
- To send league sign-in codes and account emails (via our email provider, Resend).
- To understand which modes and features are used, so we can improve the game.
- To prevent abuse (rate limiting and security).
We do not sell your personal information.
Advertising
This site is affiliated with Monumetric (dba for The Blogger Network, LLC) for the purposes of placing advertising on the site, and Monumetric will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. To learn more about Monumetric’s data usage, see: Publisher Advertising Privacy.
Ad vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices or in Google Ads Settings. Where required by law, you will be asked for consent before advertising cookies are set.
Sharing
We use service providers to run the game: Vercel (hosting and analytics), Google (analytics), Upstash (data storage), and Resend (email delivery). They process data on our behalf. We may also disclose information if required by law. Content you choose to share — team cards, challenge links, leaderboard names — is visible to anyone you share it with.
Data retention
Gameplay records, challenges, and leagues expire automatically after a limited period. Analytics data is retained per our providers’ standard windows. League accounts persist until you ask us to delete yours.
Your choices
- Play solo without any account or email.
- Clear cookies/site data in your browser to remove device identifiers and sign-ins.
- Use an ad/tracker blocker; the game works fine with analytics blocked.
- Contact us to access or delete your league account data.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Contact us and we will honor applicable requests.
Children
Puck Perfection is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the game evolves (for example, when advertising launches). The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
