How to play
Build a hockey team one choice at a time. Fill your lineup, run the season and take another shot at 84-0.
The core loop
- Pick your era settings and mode. Start on the Play page. For historical modes, decide whether to add the Original Six era to the pool. Choose a mode with visible stats, hidden stats or a salary cap. A leaderboard name is optional.
- Spin for your player pool. In the standard draft, a spin draws a team and era. Choose a player from that pool for an open position. Current Cap King uses current teams, and the special modes below have their own way of finding players. When a reroll is available, the control tells you what you can change.
- Set your lineup. Put each pick into a compatible position. A small lineup has left wing, center, right wing, two defensemen and a goalie. Full roster modes add forward lines, defense pairs and a second goalie. In cap modes, watch the remaining budget while filling every slot.
- Sim the season. Complete your lineup to get your season result. Draft Class runs the season automatically after the final pick. Where a Cup Run is available, you can follow it after the season result.
- Get graded and try again. Your season result earns a grade. Review your record, share your team or compare your run on the leaderboards. Then start a new game and try a different lineup.
Choose your challenge
Daily
Everyone gets the same daily challenge: six facedown positions, each with three options. Choose one player per position, then use at most one change at each position before locking in. The hard part is deciding when to trust your first pick. A fresh challenge arrives each day.
Stats Visible (Classic)
Spin a team and era, then choose a player for an open position until you have three forwards, two defensemen and a goalie. Player stats are visible as you pick. You have information to work with, but every spin limits your options and every filled position closes a door.
Full Roster
Draft a complete 20-player team with four forward lines, three defense pairs and two goalies. Work through the lineup tabs to fill every position. There is no salary cap in this mode, but assembling an entire team means finding depth long after your first line is full.
Current Cap King
Build a full 20-player roster from current NHL teams using real cap hits. Each team spin gives you a new pool to choose from. Stay within the displayed salary cap and leave enough money to finish the lineup. A few expensive stars can make the remaining slots difficult to fill.
Salary Cap Psycho
Fill all 20 roster spots from historical team and era spins while staying under the mode’s salary cap. Player stats are hidden. You have to rely on your hockey knowledge and manage the budget at the same time, without leaving yourself short of players at a needed position.
Double Team
Choose two current NHL teams and build a complete roster from their combined player pools. Fill the forward lines, defense pairs and goalie tandem under the salary cap, then start the Cup Run. You can edit the roster before starting, but every choice must come from those two teams.
Draft Class
Your first spin draws a draft year and a round. Pick one player for an open position, then spin another round from that same year. Rounds can repeat, and you have one round reroll for the game. Fill left wing, center, right wing, two defense spots and goal with six different players. Career stats appear on the cards. After the last pick, your season runs automatically and you can see where your lineup ranks among possible combinations in the class. The challenge is chasing the best combination from one year’s available players.
Share a run or play with friends
Use the result buttons to share your lineup or start another game. Shared challenges let another player take on your team. For an ongoing draft with friends, visit Leagues. If something does not work as expected, send the developer a bug report.
