Draft Class: Build the Best Team From One Year
Draft Class narrows the NHL down to a single draft year. Your first spin gives you a year and a round. Pick a player from that round for an open lineup slot, then spin another round from the same year. Rounds can repeat, so one run can offer several chances at first-round players. You have one round reroll during the game, and the player cards show career stats.
The mode is a test of draft memory. Some years are famous and easy: everyone knows the headline names from the strongest drafts. Others are quietly deep, with several long-career players taken outside the top ten, and the fans who remember those are the ones who post big numbers. The hard classes are the ones where the top picks did not pan out and the best players came from nowhere.
Fill left wing, centre, right wing, left defence, right defence and goalie with six different players. The goalie slot can be a trap: a class that looks rich in forwards may offer much less choice in net. Check the available positions before committing a pick. If you want to revisit the last choice, use the undo control while the draft is still in progress.
After the sixth pick, the season is simulated automatically and you get an 84-game record. The result also tells you where your lineup ranks among the possible combinations in that draft class. Chasing the best combination is the heart of the mode. You can follow the Cup Run, share the result, or send a same-year head-to-head challenge to a friend.
