Rebuild: Fifteen Draft Years, One Team
Rebuild gives you fifteen consecutive draft years. A starting year is assigned when you begin, and the years advance in order. In each of the first six years, roll a draft round and choose one player for an open position. Fill left wing, centre, right wing, left defence, right defence and goalie. The cards show NHL career stats to help you recognize the players in each class. You have one round reroll for the whole 15-year run. It draws a different eligible round without changing the year or the position you need to fill. If no other round is available, the reroll stays unused.
The first six drafts are about building a complete team. You cannot pick freely from the whole class: your rolled round sets the available pool. You can scout future classes before committing, but your next pick must come from the current year and round. Undo is available during the opening draft if you want to revisit your last placement. Once your six-player lineup is complete, the first season and Cup run play automatically.
Each remaining year gives you a choice. Keep the same six and go straight into another season, or remove one player to unlock that year's draft roll. Tap the player's remove control to open their position. You can undo the removal before rolling. Once you roll, you must take a replacement from that round for the empty spot. One new pick is available each year, so you have to decide which part of your team needs the change most.
Your players stay at their Puck Perfection peak, while Cup opponents come from the NHL season you are playing. The regular-season record uses the game's 84-game scale, and the Cup path is a fantasy bracket rather than a replay of the exact historical playoffs. The rebuild ends after Year 15, with ten seasons played once the opening lineup is complete. Share your full run, compare completed rebuilds on the leaderboard, or start another 15-year challenge.
